Arsenal are currently working diligently behind the scenes to improve Mikel Arteta’s attacking options for next season.
For a long while, Arsenal have recognised that they’ve been slightly short in their forward department, explaining why Arteta wanted to sign a striker in January.
However, under interim sporting director Jason Ayto, the opportunity to buy or even loan the right number nine didn’t come to fruition.
But that won’t be an excuse for Andrea Berta at Arsenal, their new experienced replacement for Edu Gaspar.
Berta has a whole summer to find the Gunners a new striker, and he’s seemingly wasting no time judging by Arsenal’s pursuit of Benjamin Sesko.
And in terms of landing a deal for Benjamin Sesko, Arsenal might have just received a big boost.
RB Leipzig start talks to sign Benjamin Sesko replacement amid Arsenal interest
As things stand, Arsenal are reluctant to meet Sesko’s asking price, one that’s been increased to around £67m by RB Leipzig.
TBR Football confirmed that Sesko was ‘frustrated’ with the situation, he believes the club agreed to let him go for considerably less — the striker wants to join Arsenal.
But in what could prove to be a promising move for both Sesko and Arsenal, RB Leipzig are now ‘pushing’ to sign a replacement striker of their own.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who shared his update on X, Leipzig are seriously interested in Goztepe striker Romulo.
Talks are already underway with the Brazilian who is keen on a move, a player considered to be Leipzig’s number one target if Sesko goes.
And whilst Arsenal aren’t willing to pay Leipzig’s asking price for Sesko as things stand, the German side’s progress in a deal for Romulo might ultimately soften their stance on a sale.
Chelsea have now ended their own interest in Benjamin Sesko
In terms of Arsenal’s pursuit of Sesko, the good news doesn’t stop there either.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea have now ended their own interest in signing Sesko this summer.
Chelsea were considering a Sesko bid just a few weeks ago but following their capture of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, their interest has cooled significantly.
Arsenal’s London rivals see Sesko’s playing style as very similar to Delap’s, meaning a player of his profile is simply no longer needed at Stamford Bridge.
Therefore, unless Liverpool push ahead with their Sesko interest, Arsenal might have a fairly free run at a deal.
And on Sesko’s part, there’s very little doubt that the 22-year-old would be keen to play his football at the Emirates next season.
