Florian Wirtz has been the talk of the town over the last few weeks with his Liverpool move now edging closer.
The young German has been the centre of attention ever since the transfer window was opened at the start of June, with Liverpool the ones emerging victorious.
Manchester City and Bayern Munich were the other two teams interested in acquiring Wirtz’s services, but in the end, it was the Anfield outfit he chose to take the next step of his career with.

The saga has been dragging on for some time now, but it finally seems like Liverpool fans have a day when it can all be over.
Florian Wirtz is set to be announced by Liverpool on Friday
Wirtz was one of the most sought-after players on the transfer market when it was reported that he could be prised away from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German is widely regarded as one of the best number 10s in the world and would have been a more than valuable asset to any team that he chose to join.
And, now, as per a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the day for his announcement as a Liverpool player has been shared.
“The announcement of the Florian Wirtz transfer is planned for Friday,” he wrote via his personal X account.

Liverpool will be even more dominant next season with Florian Wirtz
The 2025-26 summer transfer window is set to be one full of change for Arne Slot and his men.
Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi have already been added to their ranks, with many other players also getting linked with an Anfield switch.
Indeed, the Reds do already have Dominik Szoboszlai, who can play in the number 10 role, but with how long and gruelling seasons are these days, it’ll be nice for both to get some much-deserved rest throughout the season.

Wirtz contributed to 31 goals across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last season, and if he can produce even two-thirds of that for Liverpool next term, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with once again.
At the end of the day, nobody knows how things will pan out, but with the way things seem to be headed, Liverpool fans can expect another season of dominance.
