Mohammed Kudus is looking increasingly likely to leave West Ham this summer.

After a difficult season for West Ham, Kudus struggled to reach the same levels he has previously shown and is now keen on an exit from East London.

With the Hammers having to contend with PSR regulations this summer, there is plenty of temptation for Graham Potter’s men to cash in.

Newcastle ready to go for Kudus transfer

After having a weaker season, Kudus is keen to restart elsewhere this summer and has been linked with a host of different sides.

There have been links to sides in the Premier League, as well as Saudi Arabia, although Kudus chose to turn down a big-money move there.

With a £75million release clause, though, the Irons know that striking a deal could provide them with money to reinvest in the squad this season.

Newcastle United have now emerged as the side who may be ready to match that level.

Eddie Howe’s men have previously been linked with a move for the attacker, and according to The Athletic (17 June), his name has now featured during internal discussions at the North Eastern outfit.

Despite being the beneficiaries of a massive takeover, Newcastle have not been able to see the full effects of that yet, having not made a first 11 signing for three successive windows due to PSR issues.

However, PIF does not want a repeat of that situation and are keen to improve Howe’s squad as they look ahead to a return to Champions League football next term.

The Magpies are not keen on paying any inflated fees to bring new signings into the side, but with the desire to improve investment now, they may be ready to break the bank for this transfer.

West Ham should only cash in for the right price

Given Kudus’ levels were a bit lower this season, if they can level out their small PSR concerns with a sale that allows the opportunity to reinvest, it would be an excellent deal.

That being said, the 24-year-old has plenty of talent, and with the Hammers under no immediate pressure to sell this summer, they can’t sell themselves short either.

Newcastle won’t be keen to push the boat too far out, but similarly, Howe knows how much of an impact additions to the side can have, and that could push those above him to go for this one.

David Sullivan must stand firm, though.
