United Eye OGC Nice Midfielder Boudaoui as Rebuild Continues

Man United are said to have expressed interest in OGC Nice’s Hicham Boudaoui as part of their plans for a summer overhaul.

Boudaoui Becomes United’s New Midfield Target

Man Utd are ramping up their transfer activity as they recover from the poor show in the 2024/25 campaign. The club ended on 15th place last season. That was their worst finish in their history.

Their head coach Ruben Amorim will overseeing a rebuild this summer. Red Devils’ fans are hoping for new faces, a new identity, and players. They want players who can take the pace and pressure of the Premier League.

Utd have already secured the early signing of Matheus Cunha. But, that’s just the beginning. Now, reports from The Sun say United scouts were in Sweden recently to watch Algeria face the hosts in a friendly, with their eyes fixed on Hicham Boudaoui. The 25-year-old midfield engine played an hour and apparently did enough to impress club officials.

Transfer Delay Likely as a Result of Ownership Guidelines

Boudaoui arrived at OGC Nice in 2019. He has helped them finish the Ligue 1 season in fourth place. With that, they have booked their UCL spot for the next season as well.

Amorim praised the midfielder for combining running, play, and defend. He fits the box-to-box mold and can fit within Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

Both the clubs are being owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Due to UEFA rules, Man Utd cannot sign players from Nice until September 2025. That means a deal for Boudaoui would only be possible on deadline day, September 1.

Despite that, the interest is strong, and he’s likely to leave Nice this summer. He has 36 appearances, 2 Goals, and 4 assists last season. He adds a solid level of consistency and tactical versatility that united do not have this term.
