Liverpool to listen to offers for two players after Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez transfers

Liverpool is reportedly willing to listen to offers for Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa.

The Liverpool attackers struggled for game time last season under Arne Slot, with neither able to hold down a place in the team. Nunez started just one of the final 21 league matches of the 2024/25, while Chiesa was handed a starting berth just once.

That came in the 3-2 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion after the Premier League title was secured, when Chiesa was deployed in an unorthodox center-forward role. It would not be a surprise to see either player move on this summer, despite fellow forwards Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo linked with departures.

But both, unlike Nunez and Chiesa, played important roles for Liverpool this season. The Athletic states the Reds are now ready to listen to offers for the out-of-favor pair.

Nunez has garnered strong interest from Saudi Arabia, although he failed to complete a move ahead of the Club World Cup. The 25-year-old has been linked with sides from Spain and Italy, with reports coming out of the latter that an asking price of around €60 million ($69M/£51M) has been set for the player.

Napoli is among the clubs reportedly monitoring Nunez’s situation, while Cheisa has also been linked with a move to the Serie A champions.

AC Milan has also been credited with interest, along with Besiktas and Real Betis. Chiesa, who only joined Liverpool last summer, has been outspoken on his future since the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

“The year is over, but it's an experience I would do again,” Chiesa told Corriere dello Sport two weeks ago.

“Soon I will sit down at the table with the club, [agent] Fali [Ramadani] and my family to find the best solution. I wouldn't mind staying in Liverpool at all.”

In a separate interview, Chiesa said he is happy to stay at Liverpool beyond this summer, but failed to rule out a return to Juventus. The Italian has lost his place in the national side and admitted that regaining his spot ahead of the World Cup next year could be a determining factor in his decision-making.

Meanwhile, The Athletic also claims Andy Robertson, Jarell Quansah, Kostas Tsimikas and Vitezslav Jaros are among those who could also leave Liverpool.

Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne has been identified as an alternative to Robertson if Atletico Madrid misses out on the Scotland captain, the report adds.

The need to sell could become more pronounced as the summer continues, especially with Liverpool already sanctioning significant outlays on Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, while Milos Kerkez is expected to join them at Anfield. Giorgi Mamardashvili’s deal, which was agreed upon last year, will also be completed later this summer.
