The summer transfer window promises to be a rollercoaster ride for Wolves as Vitor Pereira pieces his plans together.
Following the departures of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, Vitor Pereira’s challenge of replacing a duo that amassed 32 goal involvements last term looks increasingly difficult.
Wolves are edging closer to signing Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo after agreeing on personal terms, but the 21-year-old has only made 20 appearances at senior level, raising doubts over his credentials.
Supporters will hope that Lopez can provide some magic in the absence of Cunha, who recorded 23 goal involvements in 2024/25.
The Spaniard isn’t the only attacking player being targeted by Pereira, as a talented youngster from Ligue 1 is also catching his eye.

Juventus have entered the race for Wolves target Evann Guessand
It was revealed earlier in June that Wolves were considering a bid for Evann Guessand, OGC Nice’s star striker.
The Ivory Coast international plundered 13 goals across all competitions as well as 10 assists, telling of his sharp creative and goalscoring edge.
On Monday, it then emerged that Wolves have tabled an offer for Guessand, who is reportedly available for around £25 million this summer.

Unfortunately, the Old Gold aren’t alone in their pursuit of the centre-forward, with Tutto Juve reporting that the 23-year-old is being targeted by Juventus as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic.
That is potentially a huge blow to Pereira’s chances of landing the Ivorian, as Juve can offer the ‘special’ Guessand Champions League football in 2025/26.
Guessand is the level of player Wolves need to sign
Worries will undoubtedly surface throughout the summer transfer window. Now that Cunha is gone, Pereira needs a replacement for the Brazilian, someone perhaps capable of hitting double figures for goals.
As a versatile forward who can use his pace to run in behind defenders, it is clear to see why Guessand is on the club’s radar.
But since a Champions League club have emerged as a potential suitor for the player, Wolves need to have some other targets in mind, ideally someone similar to Cunha’s skillset.
Ultimately, failure to replace the 26-year-old could land the Wanderers in a whole lot of bother come August, with an emphasis on getting a deal done quickly.
