Fabrizio Romano has provided his latest update on Andy Robertson this Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid have identified the Scottish skipper as their top target for the left-back position this summer, with initial talks reportedly underway to secure the 31-year-old as enters the final year of his contract at Anfield.

The left-back has been a faithful servant to the club, but it’s a reality that age catches up with everyone – and in elite football it hits some players earlier than others.

Robertson has spent eight years running his heart out for Jurgen Klopp’s gegenpressing system and now for Arne Slot.

The pursuit of Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez has not helped matters either.

And while the Liverpool man has reportedly already opened himself to a move to the Spanish capital, a decision on his future will not come soon.

Taking to X, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Andy Robertson will not be making a decision on his future imminently, with the Scot set to enjoy a holiday before discussing the situation with Liverpool FC:

“At this stage of the summer window, Andy Robertson has made no decisions on his future yet.”

“He will take a break and discuss everything with Liverpool having great relations with the Club and full respect.”

“No talks on the fee will happen until player decides on options.”

The 31-year-old enters the final year of his contract at Anfield, where he has been a consistent fixture since arriving from Hull City in 2017 for around £8.5 million.

Should he depart Merseyside this summer he goes down as not just one of Liverpool’s greatest ever full backs but indeed in the Premier League era.
