Nottingham Forest have qualified for European football next season, although it remains to be seen which competition the team will play in.
At this stage, it should be common knowledge and officially, the club will take part in the UEFA Conference League during the 2025/26 campaign.
However, there are uncertainties with Crystal Palace. Evangelos Marinakis has written to UEFA for clarity on the rules surrounding multi-club owners.
Marinakis submitted paperwork to UEFA in March when it looked as though Forest were on course to join Olympiacos in the Champions League.
Now, with that not on the agenda, Marinakis is in the clear and has taken back control of the City Ground-based outfit.

Nottingham Forest handed fresh Europa League hope after UEFA announcement
UEFA are busy sorting through a number of things ahead of next season’s competitions and Palace’s situation sits at the top of the in-tray.
The Eagles are owned by John Textor, who also has a controlling stake in Lyon and now it’s up to Palace to prove that he doesn’t have a majority share at Selhurst Park.
UEFA aren’t in the mood for messing around, however, and last night Irish outfit Drogheda United were booted out of the Conference League.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Drogheda have been kicked out due to a multi-club ownership and missing the March deadline to place their shares in a blind trust.
When will Forest get an answer from UEFA
This feels like a big decision, with Forest set to win promotion to the Europa League and Brighton getting the Conference League spot should Palace get the heave-ho.
Palace’s situation is slightly different to Drogheda and caution should be made by Forest fans despite this news.
Drogheda knew that they’d won the cup when the deadline occurred in March, yet still didn’t submit the paperwork, with their owner also holding shares in Silkeborg.
As they finished higher in their respective league, they will take the place in the Conference League ahead of Drogheda.
Forest will now hope to receive an answer pretty quickly with transfer implications likely to impact both clubs whilst an outcome is reached.
