Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has sent a clear message to PIF regarding the transfer window, showing how desperate he is to see new players join the club.
It is no surprise that fans are excited for the next two and a half months, as it is the first time the Magpies can spend with much more freedom in the transfer market.
Newcastle United supporters would rather forget the last three transfer windows due to a lack of investment, coupled with the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson, who have gone on to become key players at their new clubs.
With Champions League football returning to Newcastle next season, it is evident that the club must spend and bring in several players to avoid a repeat of the 2023/24 campaign, where squad fatigue and injuries were a major problem during a busy schedule.
Newcastle have vowed to be busy in the transfer window, and Eddie Howe has now set PIF and club staff a deadline for when he wants new players at the club.

Eddie Howe wants two Newcastle United additions before pre-season
This summer, the Magpies are keen to improve at least four positions in their starting XI, with a right-sided centre-back and right-winger believed to be the biggest priorities for Howe.
Additionally, Newcastle want to do their transfer business early this summer to ensure any new player has enough time to get up to speed with Howe’s style of football. One summer signing has already been confirmed, with Antonio Cordero joining Newcastle from Malaga, but the young winger will be loaned out for his first season on Tyneside.
With first-team signings in the pipeline, the Athletic have reported that Howe is eager to have one or two new players at Newcastle before his non-international players return for pre-season training on July 7. That gives his recruitment team just shy of three weeks to make two transfers.

Work is going on behind the scenes to bring new faces to the club, with confirmation that Newcastle are in talks for Brighton’s Joao Pedro, who Howe values at around £60m.
Eddie Howe’s deadline could prove problematic for Newcastle United
After 18 months without signing a single first-team player, there is no doubt that Howe will be frustrated with the lack of activity. It is getting to a point where Newcastle could be left behind by their rivals if new players are not signed.
Newcastle have already missed out on multiple players this summer, with Dean Huijsen joining Real Madrid and Liam Delap opting for Chelsea despite talks with the club.
If Newcastle do not sign the players Howe wants by his deadline, some may fear that the worst could happen to him. Howe was linked to the England job in 2024, but remained adamant that he is happy managing in club football.
However, the frustration at no signings could prove to be too much in the end, and he could decide to call time on his Newcastle career. Something like that would be a tremendous blow to PIF’s hunt for success on Tyneside, so they need to give him what he wants.
