Report: Arsenal now eyeing move to sign £315,000-a-week striker as Gyokeres deal 'fades away'

Arsenal have identified Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic as another alternative in their striker search this summer, according to TuttoJuve.

The Gunners are reportedly showing interest in the Serbia international, who is available for transfer this summer after struggling for regular minutes in Italy last season.

Arsenal are expected to move for Vlahovic only if they fail to land their primary targets, with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko still under consideration.

The Gunners have reportedly been informed by Sporting that offers below €80m (£67m) for Gyokeres will not be accepted, and there are concerns that a potential deal is 'fading away'.

According to TuttoJuve, Sporting’s firm stance on Gyokeres’ departure has led Arsenal to explore other market options, including Vlahovic, who has 12 months remaining on his contract with Juventus.

The Serie A side are open to selling the Serbian international this summer if a suitable offer arrives, as they risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

Vlahovic is believed to be Juventus’ highest-paid player, earning a reported £315,000 per week, though he has struggled to live up to his sizeable wages during his three-and-a-half seasons in Turin.

The Serbian striker has scored just 56 goals in 142 appearances since joining from Fiorentina in 2021, including six goals in 16 Champions League matches.

Arsenal are close to finalising their first two pieces of summer business, with deals for Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga at advanced stages.

The Spanish goalkeeper is set to join from Chelsea for £5m, while Zubimendi’s £51m release clause at Real Sociedad is also set to be activated.
