Update emerges on rumoured Leeds United bid for versatile midfield prospect

Leeds United have eyes on promising midfielder Noah Sadiki but no bid has been lodged yet, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Among the rumoured targets who fit into the latter category is Noah Sadiki, with reports claiming the Whites had made an offer.

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United hold an interest but have made no such bid. If a bid was to be placed for the midfielder, it is expected that Union Saint Gilloise would demand around £8.5m.

How good is Sadiki?

Leeds United will have to strengthen their squad in order to compete in England’s top flight. A signing such as Sadiki could be smart for both the present and future.

The signing of Sadiki would bring LUFC a very versatile player who could be deployed throughout the spine of midfield. He has been utilised by Union Saint Gilloise as a central midfielder primarily.

Though, he is no stranger to playing in a deeper role or further forward, making his versatility a valuable attribute asset for the Whites.

Sadiki made 55 appearances for USG last season, helping the club clinch a first domestic title after 90 years. Sadiki is also part of the DR Congo set up having gained nine caps for his country.

Overall, aged just 20, he has made over 100 senior appearances at club level. This experience gives Leeds United an asset for the immediate future and long-term.

A fruitful way of business for Leeds United?

Leeds United could gain the signature of a promising youngster for a relatively cheap fee. With great players coming at a premium in the current market, shopping in smaller leagues for quality players could be the way forward for promoted sides to the Premier League.

To bring in talented youngsters so early into the window could be key to the Whites’ success. There is plenty of time for integration in pre-season, so such prospects could settle before playing a role in the upcoming season.
