Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
Dancing. Joe Flacco doesn't do it. People engage in it while Steely Dan is playing. Or did, at least until 2020. The amount of alcohol required before I do it unironically is nearly lethal.
Shedeur Sanders, though, does it at the drop of a hat.

This is just one part of the problems that Shedeur Sanders causes. All those pre-draft issues raised by concerned media and fans were, indeed, prescient.
The negative ramifications of the Browns drafting Sanders have come home to roost—the unapologetic dancing, making team staff stay as he practices for another 20 minutes after everyone else has gone into the locker room, the worrying absence of boastful tweets, and Deion Sanders' constant interference with practice reps. All of it, just a nightmare.
Alright, I'll drop the facetiousness.
A viewer wrote in response to one of our videos the other day that the Browns have five quarterbacks competing for the starting role, "if you consider Shedeur's massive ego." I haven't seen this yet. Shedeur Sanders appears to be accommodating, hardworking, and genuinely interested in the Browns' efforts to reach out to the community. He's done well in front of the press.
While this could all change, it seems to me that all the warnings about Sanders disrupting operations and his father speaking directly to the media, a la Odell Beckham Jr., appear to be somewhat misplaced.
The biggest complaint I have about Shedeur to date is that he generates a lot of clickbait through his fame that I have to wade through to produce the Newswire. I saw one outlet produce a half-dozen stories on him in a day, most of them of the "Analyst reveals harsh truth about..." variety. It's not Shedeur talking, it's just a ton of people looking for attention and a bizarre media business model that's taken hold across the web.
So far, I have no complaints about Sanders' behavior, his willingness to compete, or how he has handled his fall in the draft. His presence in camp provides the team with a player who has upside beyond his draft position and appears to be working hard to overcome his limitations. I have no complaints about this pick at all. Feel free to argue with me in the comments if you'd like.
MYLES GARRETT SUPPORTS EDGE RUSHERS: Myles Garrett's massive payday seems to be having ripple effects across the NFL, as other edge rushers hold out or otherwise drive to obtain the pay level that Garrett has established. Gloriously, two of those, T.J. "I'm not obsessed with Myles" Watt and Trey Henderickson, are in the AFC North.
Another, Michal Parsons, is fortunately not in the AFC North, but Myles has his back in contract talk, saying that he should be paid "every penny he's owed".

LET'S ARGUE ABOUT ROSTER SPOTS: It's mid-June and final roster cutdowns are a few months away, but we're already arguing about whether the Browns will keep four quarterbacks on their roster. Mary Kay says "probably", Tony Grossi says "probably not", and even Jeremy Fowler has weighed in. It's all interesting and unique to the Browns, but we're a long way away from even knowing whether it's an issue. Knowing the Browns, they will probably have lost half the room to nagging injuries by mid-August.
DUMPSTER DIVING?: I kid the "FOX 8 I-Team", simply because the name brings up images of Carl Monday running around in a trenchcoat, slyly eyeing the trash bins outside a government building. There's no word on whether the I-Team was diving through dumpsters to acquire some emails from within the City government, but internal emails are featured this morning as they attempt to drive the "Browns vs. Cleveland" story forward.
To me, the whole thing is a big yawn as a dome in Brook Park is a fait accompli, and Cleveland politicians are left to rant and seethe in anger.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!: Mini-camp notebooks are getting emptied as writers exhaust the material generated over the past few weeks:
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!
