Tottenham new boss Thomas Frank appears interested to reunite with Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard
Thomas Frank is braced for a busy summer at Tottenham Hotspur with changes expected behind the scenes as well as in the first team.
The 51-year-old’s impressive work at Brentford across seven seasons earned him the Spurs job and the onus is now on him to live up to the lofty expectations at N17. It is fair to say that the Danish tactician must get going from minute one if he wants to win over the fans heading into next season.
Having moved across the capital, it is not surprising to see several Brentford players now being linked with a move to Tottenham. Young midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk has emerged as a target for the Lilywhites, while the Bees’ last season’s assist king Mikkel Damsgaard is also wanted by Thomas Frank’s new club.

Experienced midfielder Christian Norgaard has been linked with a move to N17 too. The Denmark international has been a mainstay in the Brentford side for many years, and his tactical intelligence, game awareness, physicality, ball-winning and passing skills have made him indispensable at the Gtech Community Stadium. He has been a model of reliability for the Bees, and Frank seemingly is planning to reunite with him at his new club.
According to an exclusive report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are preparing a bid in the region of £17m-£20m to sign Christian Norgaard. Contracted until 2027, Brentford consider the defensive midfielder ‘untouchable’ and are prepared to slap an inflated price tag on his head to ward off interest.
Apart from Spurs, Bournemouth, Fulham, and Everton are also interested in the 31-year-old and have been monitoring his situation before making a potential swoop. Therefore, the Lilywhites will have to overcome several hurdles to get a deal over the line.

Norgaard made 35 appearances for the west London outfit last season, scoring six goals and supplying four assists. A proper leader, experienced and consistent, the Dane has excellent understanding of Frank’s system. So, it is no surprise then that the Hotspur Way chiefs feel he could play a vital role in the club’s new era starting 2025/26 season.
More Tottenham Hotspur News:
Reliable BBC journalist Sami Mokbel recently revealed that Tottenham are looking to add more ‘experience’ in the central midfield area ahead of the new campaign. At 31 and with 122 Premier League appearances under his locker, Norgaard fits that criteria perfectly. He’d a solid addition to our squad, bringing a lot of energy, bite and physicality whilst being a good mentor for young talents such as Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Pape Matar Sarr.
That said, it will be interesting to see how Brentford respond after Tottenham table their opening bid for the reliable Norgaard.
