Bucks News: Bobby Portis Reveals Important 2025 Offseason Plan – ‘It’s Time I Get…

There’s a chance that the Milwaukee Bucks frontcourt will get poached this offseason with multiple teams targeting Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez. They can prevent this if they still desire to keep them or if they are willing to pay them extra.

Portis, who alongside Lopez, belong the last four guys who won the 2021 title for the Bucks, has been a consistent bench guy for Milwaukee. He was once nominated for the Sixth Man of the Year.

He was even very reliable in the last postseason, recording a double double on points and rebounds.

He was recruited to the Bucks by Giannis Antetokounmpo and has proven himself. Being a reliable guy was his first goal and now, it is changing. He wants to get paid.

Right now, Bobby Portis is reportedly being targeted by teams in need of big men, including the Golden State Warriors.

Bobby Portis okay with Bucks return but . . .

The Bucks will be put in a dilemma. Portis is deep in their system and their culture and he could go out if conditions are not met.

“I mean honestly—just personally—this year’s free agency, I’m focused on Bobby Portis,” he said during his latest appearance at the Run it Back podcast.

“I’m worried about what’s best for me, what’s best for my situation. Where can I fit? Where can I play the best basketball? If I sign a three- or four-year deal, where can I be the best version of Bobby Portis?”

He, however, insisted that he still wants to remain a Buck the priority will now be the chance to get paid.

“I’m not saying I don’t want to come back to the Bucks—I would love to—but I just want to be compensated fairly, man,” he said.

“I’ve taken a lot of team-friendly deals to be here. We’re at a point now where I feel like it’s time I get compensated—fairly—to my peers. That’s all I ask for.”

He is set to earn $13.4 million this 2025-2026 season.
