Manchester United continue to be linked with a range of attacking players this summer, with new manager Ruben Amorim intent on reshaping the forward line for the 2025/26 campaign.
While the club’s focus has shifted towards young talent like Hugo Ekitike and proven talent like Viktor Gyokeres, there remains constant speculation surrounding former Red Devils icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, now 40, has not announced his retirement and remains a prolific figure in Saudi Arabia, where he finished the 2024/25 season with over 30 goals for Al-Nassr.

However, reports this month linked the veteran striker with a surprise temporary switch across Riyadh to Al-Hilal ahead of the Club World Cup.
That rumour has now been shut down.
Al-Hilal chief executive Esteve Calzada has publicly dismissed the idea of signing Cristiano Ronaldo on loan, describing it as “completely counter-intuitive” given the rivalry between the two clubs.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Calzada confirmed that while the additional FIFA transfer window created unusual circumstances, Ronaldo was never a realistic option due to his current ties with Al-Nassr, who remain Al-Hilal’s biggest domestic rivals.
“As much as I respect Ronaldo as a huge player… it’s certainly completely counter-intuitive that you bring the biggest player of your biggest opponent to play with you,” Calzada explained.

“Even more when it’s only for three to four weeks.”
He added that the timing of the window and player demands made it difficult to act, noting that many potential targets were either mentally already on holiday or seeking unrealistic financial packages.
Cristiano Ronaldo himself ended speculation surrounding his club future by confirming he will remain at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
“Practically nothing will change.
“Will I be in Al Nassr? Yes,” Ronaldo told reporters.
Ronaldo’s deal with Al-Nassr is set to expire shortly, and while he has not confirmed his next move, Al-Hilal have clearly ruled themselves out — possibly opening the door to speculation over a return to Europe.
With the door firmly closed on a Ronaldo deal, Al-Hilal are expected to resume their pursuit of new signings when the traditional transfer window reopens.
