Ruben Amorim's Man Utd attacking star catches eye of two Premier League clubs, player's 'preference' is named

Ruben Amorim has received a major boost in selling one Manchester United star this summer after two Premier League clubs have reportedly ‘enquired’ about the player.

The 40-year-old Manchester United manager is set to overhaul his Red Devils squad this summer after a disastrous 2024-25 Premier League season at Old Trafford.

United suffered their worst finish in the Premier League era, with the Red Devils languishing in 15th place at the end of the 2024-25 campaign in May.

Ruben Amorim also watched on as the Red Devils failed to secure their route back to the Champions League after United’s loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

United will be without European football for the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford and Amorim faces a mammoth task ahead of him at the Premier League club.

The Red Devils entered the summer transfer window early and United completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Premier League side Wolves for a £62.5m fee.

Man Utd winger Antony attracts transfer interest in the Premier League after his loan spell at Real Betis

Antony was loaned out to Real Betis back in the January transfer window and the 25-year-old Brazilian winger was able to revive his career away from Old Trafford.

Real Betis reportedly agreed to cover the majority of Antony’s Manchester United wages during the ex-Ajax ace’s six-month loan spell at the La Liga club last season.

Antony impressed for Betis in the 2024-25 campaign and the United winger netted nine times and picked up five assists in 26 matches for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

The Betis player has struggled during his time at Old Trafford and Antony fell further down the pecking order after the arrival of Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP in 2024.

Antony’s loan deal with Betis will expire on 30th June and the Brazil star will return to Old Trafford, but the United loanee’s future remains uncertain this summer.

According to Stretty News, Premier League sides Aston Villa and Brentford have both shown interest in signing Antony from United after his impressive Betis spell.

Real Betis and Man Utd attacker Antony has a clear transfer choice amid the Premier League interest from Aston Villa and Brentford

Stretty News reports that United player Antony has ‘clearly’ revealed that his ‘preference’ is to make the move permanent to Real Betis this summer.

It is believed that United are keen to cash in on Antony’s revitalised form and recoup some of the transfer fee they paid to Ajax to sign the Brazil international.

Antony reunited with ex-Ajax manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford in 2022 after United dropped a hefty initial fee of £81.3m to sign him from the Dutch side.

It has been reported that Antony would be willing to agree to a ‘wage cut’ in a bid to push ahead with a move to Spanish side Betis this summer.

Antony is under contract at United until 2027 and Betis are believed to be keen on securing the Brazilian for around €20m amid their financial struggles.

Stretty News suggested that Betis could look for a ‘creative solution’ for the transfer, including signing Antony this summer and including an ‘obligation to buy’ in 2026.
