Fans attempting to buy tickets for September's NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park have experienced online frustration as hundreds of thousands of accounts attempt to complete purchases.
Tickets went on general sale at 12pm via Ticketmaster with prices ranging from €85 to €295, however punters attempting to buy them were greeted with queues of more than 600,000 people.
Keen NFL supporters reported of their place in the queue moving up by just a couple of hundred places in the hour since the sale began, while current wait times sit at over an hour.
Interest in the game has been intense both in Ireland and abroad. The clash of the Steelers and Vikings is one of just seven to take place outside of the US this year.
The Croke Park encounter is the first regular-season NFL game in Dublin. The Irish Government told RTÉ Sport that it has committed to providing just short of €10m in state funding for the event.
