**After missing out on priority target Bryan Mbeumo, it's now anyone's guess as to who is Newcastle United's first choice to take over the right-wing position at St James' Park.**
As things stand, Newcastle only have Jacob Murphy as a recognised right-winger, and while the club have been desperate to add quality down the right flank for years, the Magpies let their only other option, Miguel Almiron, leave in January.
Now, there's no conceivable way Newcastle can head into next season without signing a right-winger first, but as for who that will be is still a big question.
Newcastle have several options in mind, with Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest a big favourite, and there's also likely to be players from overseas who Newcastle have in their crosshairs that the media just haven't picked up on yet.

Newcastle have Mohammed Kudus on their shortlist
Newcastle have discussed a move for Mohammed Kudus
--------------------------------------------------
There have been rumours linking Newcastle with an interest in West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus, and while it may be a very difficult deal for Newcastle to do, [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6428686/2025/06/17/manchester-united-arsenal-transfer-latest-liverpool-real-madrid-barcelona-news/) have now confirmed that Kudus' name has appeared in discussions between the recruitment team at St James' Park.
> "Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, 23, and 25-year-old Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth are also admired, with both out-and-out wingers, while West Ham United attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus, 24, has featured during internal discussions."
Antoine Semenyo's name does keep appearing, but mostly as an 'also ran', as there have been no stories dedicated to a move for Semenyo since the winter window that we've noticed.

Why aren't we looking at Jarrod Bowen?
--------------------------------------
While we're looking at West Ham, why aren't we talking about Jarrod Bowen? The England international has been one of West Ham's best players for years, and the winger almost joined Newcastle a few years ago, so we know he wouldn't be opposed to the move.
Although he is 28, and that could well be the reason we're looking elsewhere, we'd still take him in a heartbeat. Anthony Gordon on one flank and Jarrod Bowen on the other, backed up by Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento. Thomas Tuchel would love that.
Whoever it ends up being, we just hope that Newcastle make up their mind soon and start to make some progress on making some key signings.
