£16.6m Wolves star is now faster than Adama Traore as Premier League speed rankings revealed

Adama Traore was famed for his speed during his time at Molineux, but Wolves now possess a player who’s faster than the Spaniard.

Despite failing to live up to his full potential, Traore was still loved by Wolves supporters, with his pace and power always getting fans off their seats.

The winger would even break the Premier League speed record during the 2023/24 season, clocking in a staggering 35.55 (km/h).

Traore’s record, though, has since been broken by one of Wolves’ current crop, with Emmanuel Agbadou proving himself amongst the league’s fastest players.

Emmanuel Agbadou is now one of the Premier League’s fastest players

Agbadou has been ‘brilliant’ since joining for £16.6 million back in January (BBC Sport), with his defensive solidity being a key part of Wolves’ upturn under Vitor Pereira.

His pace has been a particular asset to the Wolves backline, with the defensive line now able to play slightly higher up, knowing they have the Ivorian’s pace to rely on.

A perfect example of this was during Wolves’ trip to Newcastle last season, in which Agbadou raced over to the touchline to cover for Rayan Ait-Nouri and fly into a tackle.

During this bit of fine defending, Agbadou actually clocked a whopping speed of 36.15 km/h – a total which actually ranks him as the ninth fastest in the Premier League, according to SkySports.

Carlos Forbes was Wolves’ quickest player

Despite sitting ninth in the Premier League speed charts, Agbadou wasn’t actually the fastest player at Wolves last season.

That accolade actually went to Carlos Forbes, who ranked fifth with a speed of 36.57 km/h.

Second on the list was surprisingly former Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes, who picked up a staggering speed of 36.72 against Bournemouth.

With Forbes having left Wolves, Agbadou can enter the new season knowing he’s the fastest at Molineux.
