We try to explain why there is yet to be any transfer activity at Leicester City this summer. Various financial, restrictive and status issues have caused inactivity at King Power Stadium. Let's discover what on earth is going on at LCFC right now!
Even though we are well into the offseason following Leicester City's gruelling 2024/25 Premier League campaign, the Foxes are yet to become active in the transfer market. And that lack of movement applies to incoming and outgoing players on Filbert Way. In fact, the senior squad has only seen one high profile exit along with two unimportant departures as Foxes of Leicester see the situation.
Of course, preseason is only just around the corner. The East Midlanders actually face Peterbrough United in a friendly at Seagrave in just under three weeks from now. So, why have we seen absolutely no Foxes transfer activity at King Power Stadium yet this summer? When will LCFC sell some stars and backup men? And when will they make some signings, if any materialise at all?
Why there's no transfer activity at Leicester City yet this summer
Apparently the true British summer doesn't begin until June 21. But this weather may be as we get this year so it certain feels like we are already there. Besides, domestic football is undergoing its hiatus.
Regardless of these parameters and the unnecessary feeling FIFA Club World Cup (elite player seem to be overworked at present, in my opinion), City could have done some business already. Or could they?
The Profit and Sustainability mess LCFC have made for themselves is arguably restricting club commerce. They possibly want balanced books before buying.
Though selling was an option before the window closed briefly. Exchanges are again permitted from Monday, June 16. However, Leicester's main problem could be attracting personnel due to lower league status. Not to mention the managerial limbo surrounding Ruud van Nistelrooy.
