'We are talking about him' - Trabzonspor president confirms interest in Town defender

The 27-year-old is out of contract at Portman Road this summer, and while the Blues have offered him a new deal, he is yet to sign it. As a result, he can leave for free this summer if he chooses to depart Suffolk.

Turkish Superlig side Trabzonspor have been linked with a move for him, and Dogan has now confirmed that they are interested in bringing him to Papara Park.

"Axel Tuanzebe is a player that our scouting team and coach like," he said via Takvim. "We are talking about him."

Manager Fatih Tekke is reportedly keen on playing the former Manchester United man as a centre-back, having played most of his minutes in Suffolk as a right-back.

Tuanzebe, who had spells at Aston Villa, Stoke City and Napoli, joined Town in 2023. He has made 45 appearances for them, helping them secure promotion to the Premier League in 2024.

Interest in Tuanzebe comes after Cameron Burgess turned down a contract offer from Ipswich, joining Championship rivals Swansea City on a free transfer.
