Liverpool have already undergone a lot of change this summer with plenty more still to come.
The Reds are usually quite laid back and not all that active in the transfer market, but this time, things have changed dramatically.
Jeremie Frimpong has been brought in with his former teammate Florian Wirtz set to be announced as a Liverpool player on Friday.
Both of these signings are major statements of intent from Arne Slot to show that Liverpool want to challenge for everything again next term.
Some of Liverpool’s players have been with the club for a long time, with players such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah now regarded as some of the best players in the world.

However, if Liverpool want to continue attracting these sorts of players, sacrifices will have to be made.
Hence why, it isn’t much of a surprise to see Andy Robertson being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.
With this in mind, Robertson’s departure could mean that the future of another one of Slot’s men has already been decided.

Dharmesh Sheth wouldn’t be surprised if Kostas Tsimikas stayed at Liverpool
For the past few seasons, Kostas Tsimikas has been a reliable back-up to Robertson, with the self-proclaimed Greek Scouser one of the Reds’ most consistent performers.
Clubs such as Juventus have been linked with an interest in Tsimikas this term, but with the news about Robertson now emerging, his future is now looking less certain.
That is, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, who gave his verdict on Tsimikas’ future.
“And then you’ve also got Tsimikas, who’s there, who’s constantly been the backup left-back anyway,” he said on the Transfer Talk Podcast.
“Tsimikas, that wouldn’t be a surprise if he was to stay and be the backup to someone like Kerkez.
“So the other thing you’ve got to think about as well from Robertson’s perspective is, it’s the link with Atletico Madrid, which is a really, really interesting one, is he going to get an opportunity like that again in his career?”
Kostas Tsimikas staying at Liverpool is a good thing
With all the change that is likely to happen at Liverpool this season, keeping players such as Tsimikas around is nothing but a good thing.
The Greece international has never once complained about being the back-up to Robertson and has always put in 100 per cent in every game that he’s played.
In fact, Liverpool ECHO journalist Ian Doyle even labelled the defender as a “fantastic” player for a performance he put in against Wolves last season.

With Milos Kerkez likely to come in, Tsimikas will no doubt be the back-up once again, but, on paper, it feels like he’d be able to accept that more than Robertson, even if the Scotsman only has a year left on his current deal.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but on paper, selling Robertson and keeping Tsimikas seems like a solid plan for all those involved.
