According to Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam, the Ibrox club have contacted AFC Bournemouth over Aarons, seeking to bring him in on loan.
But Bournemouth would prefer a permanent deal, McAdam said.
Aarons spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, having played a bit part in Andoni Iraola’s Cherries squad for the first half of the campaign.
He made just three appearances in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup – playing the first half against West Brom in January two days before his move to Spain was confirmed.

The 25-year-old played four times in La Liga for Valencia, coming off the bench for his debut in a 7-1 drubbing by Barcelona.
He started against Real Madrid as Valencia won 2-1, before appearances off the bench against Alaves and Athletic Club.
Aarons joined the Cherries from Norwich in August 2023, playing 27 times for Bournemouth in all competitions.
