Como enter race to sign Manchester United linked midfielder

Manchester United’s focus this summer has been a blend of experienced additions and rising talents with high potential.

Following the arrival of Matheus Cunha, the club remains active across several fronts, especially with Ineos keen on long-term investment in youth.

With multiple scouts deployed across Europe during the U21 European Championship and La Liga season, United’s recruitment team have been working overtime.

Ruben Amorim is known to favour versatile wide players who can develop under his philosophy and offer technical quality in the final third.

As the market intensifies, United are now tracking one of Spain’s brightest young prospects following a breakthrough campaign.

Manchester United have joined the list of clubs monitoring Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez, who impressed in the 2024/25 La Liga season.

The 19-year-old made 32 appearances for Betis across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists, becoming a standout performer in a struggling side.

Rodriguez’s explosive pace, fearless dribbling, and growing tactical awareness have caught the eye of multiple clubs, with Italian side Como – managed by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas – recently sounding out the player’s camp, as per Diario AS.

Como have previously done business with Betis, securing Assane Diao in January, and now appear keen on raiding the Spanish side once again.

However, United’s interest adds a new layer of complexity to the chase, particularly given their stronger financial muscle and higher profile.

Betis, for their part, are reluctant to let the youngster go unless a significant offer is received.

Jesus Rodriguez reportedly has a release clause of €50 million, and the Spanish side will not consider any bid below €30 million.

So far, there have been no formal offers, but Betis are bracing themselves for bids as interest builds across Europe.

United’s approach since Ineos’ arrival has already seen them move for players under 21, and Rodriguez fits that mould perfectly as a developmental project with first-team potential.

Should a deal materialise, Rodriguez could add much-needed depth and flair to United’s flanks, particularly if the likes of Jadon Sancho or Antony depart in the coming weeks.
