Rangers have reportedly been told top transfer target Max Aarons may only be available on a permanent deal.

Russell Martin is working hard behind the scenes working on a host of signings as he gears up for a pre-season return next week.

The Light Blues will discover who they will face in the second qualifying round of the Champions League on Tuesday, June 18 and one man the new boss wants on board in a bid to reach the bid time is the Bournemouth defender.

It's understood the Ibrox side favour a loan deal for the man who spent time on loan at Valencia in La Liga last season.

However, Sky Sports claim the Cherries are 'believed to favour a permanent exit for the player'.

Aarons, who plays at right-back and would provide competition for skipper James Tavernier, can also play on the left side.
