Newcastle United have handed out new contracts to three academy players.
Newcastle United have confirmed new contracts for three of their academy stars.
Sean Neave, Leo Shahar and Trevan Sanusi have all committed their futures to Newcastle after being exposed to the first-team last season.
Neave and Shahar have regularly trained with Eddie Howe’s squad and were named in the matchday squad on multiple occasions last term. Sanusi, meanwhile, featured heavily during pre-season before making his senior debut in the FA Cup third round win over Bromley in January.

Newcastle academy director Steve Harper said: "Sean, Leo and Trevan have shown great promise and we're delighted to see them continue their journey with us.
"Each of them has shown great commitment and potential, and we look forward to supporting their development as they take the next steps in their careers."
As per the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, Neave has signed a new three-year contract, though the lengths of Shahar and Sanusi’s deals are not yet known. The pair joined from Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively, in 2023.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have confirmed Joe Brayson, Logan Watts and Luke Craggs have signed their first professional contracts, while Sam Alabi, Michael Mills and Sammy Pinnington have agreed first-year scholarships, Thomas Bryant's scholarship has been extended into a third year.
Harper added: "It's always a proud moment to see young players progress their careers and earn their first professional contracts. The challenge now is to keep pushing, keep improving and make the most of the opportunities ahead but they should all take great pride in this recognition and use it as motivation for next season."
Newcastle United academy taking shape ahead of 2025-26 season
Newcastle announced their academy retained list earlier this month, confirming Jay Turner-Cooke, Ellis Stanton, twin brothers Harry & Rory Powell, Josh Donaldson and James Huntley are due to be released at the end of this month.
Turner-Cooke joined the Magpies from Tyne-Wear rivals Sunderland in January 2021 and played in a handful of first-team friendlies, including away to Gateshead when he scored a 3-2 victory.
The 21-year-old midfielder had loan spells at Tranmere Rovers and St Johnstone but struggled to make a keen impression. He spent the whole of last season with the under-21s. Stanton, a midfielder, has been part of the under-21s set up since the latter stages of the 2021-22 season.

Ashington-born Huntley never made a first-team appearance but was given an experience he’ll never forget after being named on the bench for Newcastle’s 1-1 draw away to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in December 2023.
Commenting on the academy exits, Harper said: "I want to extend my gratitude to all the players who are moving on from the Academy. Their commitment and growth - both as footballers and individuals - reflect the dedication they have shown throughout their time representing Newcastle United.
"They have been a credit to themselves, their families and to the club and they should be immensely proud of everything they’ve achieved.
"Our support doesn’t stop here. The Academy remains a resource for them as they take the next steps in their careers, and I look forward to seeing where their journeys take them. On behalf of everyone here, we wish them every success for the future."
