A whole host of former Hammers were on show as the Rest of the World beat England 5-4 in this year's Soccer Aid event.

There were ex-Irons featuring for both teams in Manchester on Sunday evening as the teams came together at Old Trafford to fight for the annual charity gig's trophy. And in the end it was the RotW who triumphed, coming from 3-0 behind to win 5-4 thanks to a flurry of second half goals - four of which came from debutant Carlos Tevez, who represented West Ham during the 2006/07 season. In addition to Tevez were several participants with a West Ham United connection:

Michael Carrick (England): One of the Class of 99, originally from Newcastle, who spent five seasons as a pro with the Hammers.

Jermain Defoe (England): Played for the Hammers from 1999 to 2004, when he moved to Tottenham six months after the club's relegation from the Premiership.

Joe Hart (England): Spent one season (2017/18) on loan in Stratford before returning to parent club Manchester City.

David James (England): Signed by Glenn Roeder, Welwyn Garden City-born James spent three seasons in east London, between 2001 and 2004.

Harry Redknapp (England): Managed West Ham between 1994 and 2001.

Jack Wilshere (England): The perma-crocked midfielder spent two seasons with the Hammers between 2018 and 2020 but managed just 16 appearances.

Robbie Keane (RotW): The former Irish international was another loanee at West Ham, spending the final half of the 2010/11 relegation campaign at Upton Park.

The game was watched by a crowd of 70,000, with more than £15million raised throughout the event for various charitable causes including UNICEF.
