Nottingham Forest are plotting a move to sign Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 29-year-old is one of a number of options on Forest’s radar.
Forest used Neco Williams as their first-choice left-back for the majority of the season, with Ola Aina occupying the right-back spot, but they now want a specialist.
Alex Moreno spent the season on loan at the City Ground from Aston Villa, but Leeds are now eyeing a move for Moreno following his short-term spell.
That move could play into Forest’s hands, as Brown told Football Insider in May that Leeds are also interested in signing Tsimikas and will rival Forest for his signature.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are prepared to cash in on the Greece international as they close in on the signing of Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez.

Nottingham Forest join Leeds in Kostas Tsimikas race
Football Insider revealed on 26 May that Tsimikas could be available for £15million as Leeds believe he would immediately improve their starting XI.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has now insisted Forest are prepared to rival Leeds in their pursuit of the left-back.
“*At least one of Robertson or Tsimikas will leave Liverpool,*” he told Football Insider.
“They don’t want to have three left-backs on the books with Kerkez coming in.
“Tsimikas has done well when he’s come into the Liverpool side and he’s got a few suitors.
“Nottingham Forest have done their due diligence on him and now they have to decide whether he’s the one they want to take a chance on.
“They’ve looked into his character and his ability to see if he would fit in.
“Nuno wants to bring in a natural left-back and of course he fits that bill.
“He’s not the only one they’ve been looking at, though, so we’ll see.”

James McAtee update emerges after England U21 latest
Alongside signing a new left-back, Nuno Espirito Santo is aiming to bolster his squad across the pitch ahead of their participation in next season’s Europa Conference League.
Brown told Football Insider on 14 June that Forest are interested in Man City’s James McAtee and have sent scouts to watch him at the Under-21 Euros.
England’s Under-21 side are aiming to defend their title two years after a 1-0 win over Spain in 2023, with McAtee leading the side as captain.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that McAtee will not be a Man City player at the start of next season and is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans.
