Man United are looking to sign a replacement for goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, after the Cameroon international made several key mistakes last year.
Ruben Amorim‘s side have been linked with several world-class goalkeepers, and they are expected to make a concrete move to sign one this summer, only it is unclear yet as to which one.
Furthermore, Marcus Rashford returned from his loan move to Aston Villa, also looking for a way out of Old Trafford. The England international reportedly wants a move to Barcelona, but it is unclear as to whether the Spanish side are willing to pay Man United’s £40m asking price for him.

With Amorim keen to bring in a goalkeeper and sell Rashford, he could do both in one go, and decide to swap the attacker for a stopper. They would then be able to sell Andre Onana and come out of it having made a profit.
Man United should swap Marcus Rashford for Emi Martinez
One goalkeeper that the Red Devils have been linked to signing is Aston Villa’s shotstopper Emi Martinez, who is reportedly set to leave Aston Villa this summer, despite being a key player for Unai Emery’s side.
This past season, Martinez made 53 appearances for Villa, conceding 61 goals and keeping an impressive 16 clean sheets. The 32-year-old is regarded as one of the best keepers, not only in the Premier League, but in the world.
Rashford had a fantastic loan spell at Villa, so it would be a surprise if the Midlands-based club weren’t prepared to have him back in claret and blue. It has been suggested that Villa don’t want to pay Rashford’s wages, but if they were to include Martinez in a swap deal, he would free up some funds for Rashford to come in.
The English attacker made 17 appearances for Villa in the second half of the season, scoring four goals and providing six assists. He became one of the first names on Emery’s team sheet every week.
The swap deal would hand Villa a talented attacker, who can help propel them to the next level, and Man United would get a worthy replacement for Onana, whilst also making a profit, it would be a savvy deal if the Red Devils could manage it.
