The Phoenix Suns are hard at work trying to find a new home for Kevin Durant, and they have a lot of options.
But they want to do this the right way, which means they need to consider everything very carefully.
Writing for The Athletic, Sam Amick and Jon Krawczynski gave an update on the offers the team is looking at and their hopes for Durant’s desires.
“With the offers from the Spurs, Rockets and Heat coming up short to this point, league sources say the Suns are still hopeful that Durant might warm to the Timberwolves possibility,” per Amick and Krawczynski.
According to the report, the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and Miami Heat are all interested in acquiring Durant, but they aren’t bringing forward packages that make the Suns that happy.
Therefore, Phoenix is hoping that Durant adjusts and accepts the idea of playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who apparently have a deal that is better for the Suns.
Recent reports have stated that Durant isn’t interested in Minnesota, but will he change his mind?
And what can the T-Wolves send to the Suns in order to land Durant?
Would they ship off players as big and important as Julius Randle or Rudy Gobert?
There are obviously a lot of moving pieces right now, and things are changing constantly.
But with rumors of a trade happening as soon as this week, you can expect that the Suns will go into overdrive in the days ahead.
This trade is most certainly still going to happen; it’s just a matter of who is involved.
