Kylian Mbappé was absent from Real Madrid’s final training session in Miami ahead of their Club World Cup debut against Al Hilal. As reported by Managing Madrid’s Kiyan Sobhani, the French forward is battling a fever and has been confined to the team hotel as he recovers.

Mbappé, who trained relatively normally on Monday, began feeling unwell upon returning to the team’s hotel. He reportedly skipped lunch and alerted the medical team, who diagnosed him with a feverish condition. As a precaution, he has been on a strict diet of fruit and water over the past 24 hours.
His illness forced him to miss not only Tuesday morning’s training session in Palm Beach but also a scheduled FIFA photoshoot. In addition, Mbappé was unable to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, who arrived in Miami yesterday to join the team ahead of the tournament.
The situation casts some doubt over Mbappé’s availability for Wednesday’s match against Al Hilal, especially given the sweltering weather conditions in South Florida. The club’s staff is reluctant to take risks with players who are not fully fit, particularly in such physically demanding conditions.
Real Madrid held their final training session Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM local time. The squad is otherwise in high spirits and well-prepared for their Club World Cup opener, but all eyes are now on whether Mbappe will recover in time to feature.
Kickoff against Al Hilal is scheduled for 3:00 PM local time on Wednesday at Hard Rock Stadium.
