Chelsea still in talks with world-class Nigerian striker

Chelsea are still in talks with world-class Nigerian striker. They wanted to sign him last summer itself but failed to do so. But, they have been offered a chance to sign him once again this summer.

The Blues have signed Liam Delap as new striker. The 22 year old costed them only £30 million due to Ipswich Town getting relegated. This has given them a chance to sign another striker. They are not fully impressed with Nicolas Jackson whereas Marc Guiu is likely to be sent on loan.

Chelsea have been showing strong interest in Hugo Ekitike. He too is 22 years old and plays for Frankfurt. But, the German club wants €100 million for him. In addition, the Blues are joined by multiple other top clubs. Hence, they are now in talks to sign Nigerian striker instead.

The star in question here is Victor Osimhen of Napoli. The Blues wanted to sign him last summer itself. But, his £100 million release clause proved to be a stumbling block. As a result, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan. He had a very good season but is unwilling to stay in Turkey.

Osimhen is also wanted by Al Hilal. They were offering him a highly lucrative offer. In addition, they also had agreement with Napoli. The Serie A champions are keen to sell him. But, Osimhen has rejected the offer to stay in Europe. As far as England is concerned, he is wanted by Arsenal, Man United & Chelsea.

Chelsea handed boost in pursuit of Osimhen

According to The Express, Osimhen has rejected to join Arsenal and Man United due to financial reasons. But, he is still in talks with Chelsea. Hence, the Blues have lead in race and now can also sign the Nigerian on discount. The 26 year old will cost only £65 million this summer.
