Liverpool have made a move to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen in a shock swap deal, according to Rudy Galetti for TEAMtalk.
The Reds are set for a busy summer transfer window after the arrival of defender Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while a deal has been agreed for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz too.
But Arne Slot wants to add a natural number nine to his Premier League-winning squad too, and Nigeria international Osimhen has now emerged as a viable candidate.

Victor Osimhen celebrating after scoring for Galatasaray
Osimhen spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray and had a phenomenal campaign, scoring 37 goals and registering eight assists in 41 appearances as he led them to the Turkish title.
But now he has returned to Napoli and an exit is expected this summer with the 26-year-old having no future in Naples following a major fall-out with the board.
Liverpool are keen to add a new striker to their squad, but a move for top target Alexander Isak looks highly unlikely with Newcastle not interested in selling the Sweden international after they reached the Champions League for 2025/26. They have now opened talks with the Serie A giants over a move for Osimhen, who has been described as "the best striker in the world", and they're willing to offer players in exchange to get a deal over the line.

According to the report, Napoli are showing an interest in Reds forwards Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, and Liverpool are open to allowing both players leaving Anfield in a shock swap deal.
Osimhen - labelled as 'the best striker on the market' currently - has so far rejected advances from Saudi Arabia this summer and a number of top European clubs are struggling to meet his £400,000-a-week wage demands, but Liverpool may be able to do so.
Liverpool's move for Wirtz is expected to see him come in as one of the club's top earners, while Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah recently renewed their contracts on wages in excess of £300,000-a-week.
