It is set to be an interesting offseason for the Sacramento Kings as they decide whether to retool their roster or begin a complete rebuild.
Sacramento is coming off a season in which they finished ninth in the Western Conference but failed to make the playoffs after being eliminated in the Play-In Tournament by the Dallas Mavericks.
Of course, it was a season full of change for the Kings as they moved on from head coach Mike Brown, traded away star point guard De’Aaron Fox and then parted ways with general manager Monte McNair.
Now the Kings enter a potential offseason full of change as well as they could move on from one or multiple of their stars in Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.

Either way, the main area of priority for Sacramento this summer is the point guard position as they struggled during the second half of the season at the position after trading away Fox.
The Kings used both Malik Monk and Keon Ellis as their starting point guard to end the year and while both played well in their new opportunity, it is clear that Sacramento needs to find a new starting point guard this summer.
One player the Kings could target for the position is Russell Westbrook and according to Bovada, they have the third-best odds (+500) to sign him in free agency this summer.
The Miami Heat have emerged as the favorite (+260) to sign him and they are followed by the Dallas Mavericks (+325).
Westbrook is coming off a solid season with the Denver Nuggets as he was able to bounce back after a couple of poor seasons with both the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.

The 36-year-old guard now enters unrestricted free agency as a veteran point guard option for many teams and there is no doubt that he would be a massive upgrade for the Kings’ backcourt at potentially a low price.
Despite this, there should be many teams interested in the former MVP winner and he could also elect to re-sign with the Nuggets.
