Liverpool have £100m duo ready to fire Arne Slot plans as talks take place

Liverpool could continue on their spending spree thanks to two marquee sales. The Reds are in the heart of a major rebuild, having already welcomed Jeremie Frimpong to their ranks in a deal worth £29.5million from Bayer Leverkusen.

Arne Slot’s side are eyeing reinforcements in several other departments too, and they remained locked in talks with Leverkusen again over a record-breaking deal for Florian Wirtz. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is also on the verge of joining the club.

With further additions in the pipeline, notably in the final third, Liverpool could fund any further signings with the sales of their fringe stars. The Anfield outfit are expected to sell Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott this summer, and the players could collectively add £100million to the club’s transfer kitty.

After an underwhelming spell on Merseyside, the Reds are prepared to cut their losses on Nunez and are demanding a fee in the region of £60million to part ways with the Uruguay international. Despite some shaky performances last season, the striker is not short of suitors and he has held talks with Serie A giants Napoli. Saudi Pro League sides are also interested.

Elliott has also spoken publicly about the possibility of leaving the Reds this summer, conceding that he may have to make a difficult decision to avoid ‘wasting years’ biding his time and hoping for opportunities at Anfield.

The midfielder has been linked with a host of Premier League outfits, and he is not short of interest abroad as well. Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on the playmaker, and the prospect of a move to Germany is likely to prove an attractive opportunity if a concrete approach is made.

Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota also has interest from elsewhere and could depart, though a spree of attacking outgoings would require Slot to majorly reshuffle his attacking ranks. The Reds have been heavily linked with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but any move for the Sweden international would require a huge offer.

Brighton’s Joao Pedro and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike are also among their considerations, though Chelsea are also keen on the duo despite already welcoming Liam Delap to their ranks from Ipswich Town.
