Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy handed Rangers transfer pitch

Paul Dickov has thrown down the gauntlet to Jamie Vardy, urging him to join "giant" Rangers and lead their challenge against Celtic.

The Ibrox side is reportedly in the mix for the 38 year old former Leicester City striker's signature following his departure from Leicester City, with the club's new owners keen on a high-profile acquisition.

Russell Martin is at the helm of Rangers' American-led transformation, and ex-Leicester striker Dickov is confident that Vardy would thrive in the Scottish Premiership under his management.

In a [recent interview](https://www.bestbettingsites.com/uk/blog/paul-dickov-interview.html), Dickov remarked: "Jamie Vardy's got a lot to give. You've seen him at the end of last season, still running around as if he was 25 years old, still scoring goals."

He continued, "So I think people look at his age and everything else, but he's still got a lot of football and a lot of goals in him. Whether that's the Premier League, who knows?".

"But definitely if it's a Championship or Scottish Premiership team, he'd be a hit. I think he would be a big success in Scotland, no doubt about it."

Dickov added, "Playing for a giant like Rangers, blue jersey, it would be a good signing for them. I'm sure he's got a lot of offers and they are probably at home and abroad as well."

He speculated on Vardy's future, saying, "I think he'll be able to take his pick. Maybe he'll want an entirely new challenge, to take his family abroad for a couple of years.

"Perhaps he'll want to drop to the Championship and take a club back to the Premier League. Moving to Rangers, there's the challenge of taking on Celtic. It all depends on what's going to motivate him next."
