Report: Manchester United and title-winner want £82,000-a-week Nottingham Forest star,…

Nottingham Forest had a solid campaign in 2024/25, and as a result, it’s drawn interest in the club’s top stars.

Anthony Elanga is being courted by Newcastle, although the club maintain he’s not for sale this summer.

Elsewhere, Morgan Gibbs-White was liked by Manchester City, but it’s anticipated that they’ve now focused their attentions on other players, with four new additions already made.

Danilo is set to sign for Lyon, whilst Matt Turner, Josh Bowler and Andrew Omobamidele will all be allowed to find homes this summer.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is another player who had a fine season, and he’s now being pursued too.

Antonio Conte specifically asks for Callum Hudson-Odoi

It’s one thing when a club is eyeing a better player within the squad, but when a manager like Antonio Conte specifically asks for you, it’s a huge worry.

According to Football Italia, the Serie A-winning manager is keen to add Hudson-Odoi to his Napoli ranks in the coming months.

Hudson-Odoi has just two years to run on his existing deal, and it’s been claimed by The Sun that contract talks are going to open with the 23-year-old.

The £82,000-a-week star is not thought to be unhappy at Forest, although the lure of Champions League football might prove too strong for many of the current squad.

Hudson-Odoi only cost Forest £3 million, and in terms of PSR, he’d be a brilliant sale given that the club would recoup a lot of profit on his departure.

Forest need to get Hudson-Odoi tied to a new contract

The problem facing Forest has a rather simple solution; Hudson-Odoi either signs a new contract this summer, or the club seriously contemplates cashing in.

Forest will be at the mercy of clubs making low-ball offers for their better players if they let any player head into the final year of his contract and with overseas interest in Hudson-Odoi, the Reds can’t risk pre-contract situations.

Hudson-Odoi has been integral to the way Forest play on the counter, and last season he scored five goals to go with the eight he scored during his maiden season at the City Ground.

Conte is an extremely successful manager but the hope will be that Hudson-Odoi ignores those advances and opts to play Europa League football with Forest and sign a new contract to preserve his transfer fee in the future.
