Newcastle United have been handed a major boost ahead of pre-season with the news that Joelinton is fighting fit again.
The £40million man missed Newcastle's run-in after suffering a knee injury with a couple of issues sidelining him in the second half of the season.
Chronicle Live understands that Joelinton has been working hard over the summer and will be available from the start of pre-season.
It's a huge boost for head coach Eddie Howe, who last watched Joelinton in action from his sickbed back in April. Back then, Howe was shaking off pneumonia while Joelinton suffered a knee injury.
Newcastle return to pre-season in early July with their first friendly game taking place at Parkhead against Celtic.
The July 19 encounter will see 7,200 Geordie fans head to Glasgow for a high profile curtain raiser.
Speaking about Joelinton's situation towards the end of the season, Howe said: "We sought specialist opinion, and the opinion was it was nothing serious but he needed a period of rest so he's now in Brazil."

And that rest period appears to have done the trick for Joelinton who has been back in the gym and running during the holiday period. The midfield enforcer missed nine games in total last season for the Magpies.
