Manchester United's summer transfer activities are steadily gaining momentum with manager Ruben Amorim keen to shake things up after a dismal season that saw them finish 15th place in the Premier League.

Matheus Cunha has already made his way from Wolves in a deal worth around £63million. However, more investment is crucial if Amorim is to turn the tide following a disappointing stint so far. A new striker is high on his wishlist, but prime target Liam Delap has given United the cold shoulder, opting to sign with Chelsea instead.

Adding to their woes, another potential recruit has made it clear he won't be joining Amorim's ranks. Despite these setbacks, United's chief executive Omar Berrada remains confident in the club's summer plans. Berrada is convinced that Amorim has a solid strategy that will pay off, reports the Mirror.

As Berrada voices his support, United are closing in on their second signing of the summer window. Here's all the latest Manchester United transfer updates.

Prior to this, the 39-year-old enjoyed successful runs at Bristol City, Burnley and Aston Villa, earning him regular call-ups to the England squad. His current contract was due to expire this summer.

Heaton is on the brink of signing a fresh contract to extend his stay at Old Trafford until next summer, with Amorim and his coaching team giving the thumbs up to the deal.

United CEO Omar Berrada, has let slip that the club's going to be splashing the cash during the rest of the summer window. After a year of slashing costs, Berrada's been at the helm of a major financial overhaul.

Yet, he's assured The United Stand that the Red Devils are set to get stuck in over the summer. He's thrown his weight behind the 'vision' that Amorim and footie director Jason Wilcox have for the club's future.

"We've put ourselves in the best position possible by doing everything that we've had this year around cost-cutting," Berrada said.

"I'm confident that we will come out of the window with a much stronger team than what we've gone into."

Eintracht Frankfurt's shot-stopper Kaua Santos has made it crystal clear he's turning down a switch to United.

Despite being side-lined with a hefty injury after 14 matches this season, and with five years left on his contract, Santos has caught United's eye.

"The people in charge in Frankfurt have shown enormous trust in me. They wanted to continue working with me before these rumours even surfaced.

"They still have a lot of faith in me here, so it was clear to me that I wanted to extend my contract," he told Die Welt.

"I want to establish myself as a goalkeeper, perform well, and achieve as much as possible.

"I'm not busy with anything else at the moment, because my entire focus is on Eintracht Frankfurt."
