Everton are battling some of their Premier League rivals in trying to land some of their summer targets.
It is proving an extremely competitive transfer market for David Moyes and his recruitment staff having already missed out on some players.
The Friedkins are looking to make a positive impression in what is their first summer transfer window as Everton owners.
However, they are certainly facing a real battle to bring in their targets.
There are some audacious players on the radar with Everton eyeing a move for Jack Grealish this summer.
But there are also some that may prove controversial with the fans and Newcastle are now battling Everton for one of those players.

Newcastle lead Everton in Jarell Quansah race
In what would be a divisive move, Everton are showing an interest in Jarell Quansah from their city rivals.
They are not the only club about which are keen to land the England international and the defender even has interest from abroad.

According to Caught Offside, it is Newcastle United who are now viewed as one of the real favourites to land the centre-back.
It is believed the Reds value Quansah in the region of £40m this summer as they could really cash in on the 22-year-old.
With less concern over PSR this year and a massive financial backing from their owners, it is claimed Newcastle are the favourites in this race.
Quansah has spoken to Bayer Leverkusen with Erik ten Hag keen to make him one of his first signings as the manager in Germany.
However, there are a number of sides that could offer Quansah a Premier League stay, but it is certainly going to come at a cost.
Everton should eye other defensive targets
Clearly, there are a number of teams who think highly of Quansah despite his struggles at Liverpool.
But Everton already have a solid defensive unit that the 22-year-old would find difficult to break in to.
Jarrad Branthwaite’s Everton future is being questioned again and his unlikely departure would certainly create a real need to sign a new centre-back.
As things stand, £40m being spent on a new centre-back would not seem the wisest decision considering the needs elsewhere.
