Manchester City will begin their bid to regain the Premier League title they lost last season away from home against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the first day of the campaign.

Pep Guardiola's side will make the trip to Molineux on Saturday, August 16, with kick-off at 5:30pm after the match was chosen for Sky Sports television coverage.

Wolves has largely been a happy hunting ground for City in previous seasons as they have won on four of their last five trips to the Black Country, including last season's 2-1 success when John Stones scored a dramatic stoppage time winner.

However, they have been handed a tough start to the campaign as they will face three of the traditional 'Big Six' clubs in their opening five fixtures.

City's first home game of the season will be against Europa League winners Tottenham, as their new manager Thomas Frank will take charge of Spurs away from home for the first time in a competitive fixture.

City will then travel to Brighton in their final game before the first international break of the season and when they return they will host Manchester United in the first Manchester Derby of the season on the weekend of September 13.

A trip to Arsenal will follow that the following weekend and we should get a good gauge of where this City team are at after a difficult opening five game stretch.

City face Premier League champions Liverpool at the Etihad on the weekend of November 8 and they face trips to Nottingham Forest (December 27) and Sunderland (December 30) over the festive period before taking on Chelsea at home (January 3) in their first fixture of 2025.

The second Manchester derby of the season takes place at Old Trafford on the weekend of January 17, while return fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal come in February and April respectively.

City will end their season with a home match against Aston Villa, just as they did in 2022 when they came from 2-0 behind to win 3-2 to win the Premier League title.
