Wolves fans learn when Matheus Cunha will return to Molineux as 2025/26 fixtures announced

With the announcement of the 2025/26 fixture list, Wolves fans now know when Matheus Cunha will return to Molineux.

Almost immediately after the summer transfer window opened, Cunha’s move to Manchester United was confirmed.

It was a transfer saga that Wolves did not want to drag out, making the £62.5m release clause inserted into the Brazilian’s contract in January all the more useful.

Wolves fans were glad to see the back of Cunha due to his role in fuelling transfer talk, despite the 26-year-old being one of the best players ever to grace the pitch of Molineux.

When Matheus Cunha will return to Wolves

Cunha wasn’t the only player to leave Wolves early in the window, however, as Rayan Ait-Nouri conducted his exit respectfully, the Algerian departed with well wishes.

For the defender’s former teammate, it’s unknown whether Cunha will be booed on his return to Molineux, with fans now aware of the date that the forward will make the trip to WV1 with Man United.

When the 2025/26 Premier League fixture list dropped, it was revealed that Wolves will face Cunha’s Man United on gameweek 15 at Molineux, which is scheduled for 6th December, marking the Brazil international’s first return.

Shortly after, the Old Gold will visit their ex-star player’s new home on 30th December as part of gameweek 19, when Vitor Pereira’s side march to Old Trafford.

Wolves will hope to punish Man United again

When it comes to facing Man United, it’s a case of wanting more of the same for Wolves, who beat the Red Devils home and away last season.

Ironically, Cunha was at the heart of both victories, shining at Old Trafford and contributing to both goals in Wolves’ 2-0 win against United at Molineux.

The West Midlands side will hope that the 26-year-old doesn’t come back to haunt them, with another six-pointer eyed by Pereira’s pack.

It was during the 1-0 win at Old Trafford that Rio Ferdinand believes Cunha won Man United over, as the Brazilian ran riot, and after the game, was pulled aside by Ruben Amorim.

The only thing on Pereira’s mind will be winning as many games as possible, but for some Wolves fans, showing Cunha what he’s missing would be an added bonus.
