Arsenal reach Sesko transfer agreement as £85.5m call made

Arsenal have 'reached an agreement' with RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, it has been claimed.

Mikel Arteta's side are in the market for a new No.9 and have identified Sesko, 22, as a top target after scoring 21 goals in 45 matches for Leipzig in the 2024/25 season.

The Gunners wanted Sesko last summer but the Slovenian instead committed his future to Leipzig and signed a five-year contract running until 2029.

But now, Arsenal look to be moving closer to getting their man, as BILD have reported that the Gunners and Sesko have come to an agreement on personal terms.

While Arsenal still need to agree a fee with Leipzig, it's added that the Gunners have signalled to the Bundesliga club that they will make an offer which won't be below their expectations.

BILD believe the bid will somewhere between £68.5million to £85.5m, with the exact amount expected to be detailed in the coming days.

Confidence is growing that a full agreement can be reached and Arsenal can get a deal over the line for Sesko ahead of pre-season next month.

Sesko signed his first professional contract at Red Bull Salzburg and this is where he made his name, following a successful 18-month loan at Austrian second division side FC Liefering.
