Manchester City will kick off their quest to reclaim the Premier League title with an away match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening day of the season. The Blues, under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola, will journey to Molineux on Saturday, August 16, for a 5:30pm kick-off, as selected for Sky Sports television coverage.
Historically, Wolves' home ground has proven favourable for City, with four victories from their last five visits to the Black Country, including a thrilling 2-1 triumph last season when John Stones netted a dramatic stoppage time winner.
Nonetheless, they face a challenging start to the season, squaring off against three of the traditional 'Big Six' clubs in their first five matches. City's inaugural home game of the season will see them host Europa League champions Tottenham, marking new manager Thomas Frank's first competitive away fixture at the helm.
Following this, City will head to Brighton for their final match before the season's first international break. Upon their return, they'll welcome Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium for the season's first Manchester Derby during the weekend of September 13.
A subsequent visit to Arsenal awaits the following weekend, providing a stern test of City's mettle after a demanding initial run of five games.
City are set to face Premier League champions Liverpool at the Etihad on the weekend of 8 November, with festive trips to Nottingham Forest (27 December) and Sunderland (30 December), before a home clash with Chelsea on 3 January 2025.
The second Manchester derby of the season is scheduled for Old Trafford on the weekend of 17 January, while return fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal are due in February and April respectively.
City will conclude their season with a home match against Aston Villa, mirroring their 2022 finale when they staged a comeback from 2-0 down to clinch a 3-2 victory and the Premier League title.
