Marseille striker Mason Greenwood has returned to Manchester. He was recently seen working out with his former Manchester United academy teammate.
Back on Home Turf: Greenwood Trains with Old Mate
Mason Greenwood is back in Manchester during the off-the-field off-season break. He is using his time off to stay match fit. The young forward was training with D’Mani Mellor, his former teammate from **Man Utd**‘s youth academy.
Greenwood had a successful first season after his £26.6 million transfer to France. He managed to scored 22 goals and assist another six goals in just 36 games across all competitions. The young striker looked sharp as he went through drills with Mellor.
Meanwhile, Mellor is now with Macclesfield FC. He is playing under former Premier League midfielder Robbie. Both players came up through the ranks at Utd. They even shared the pitch in a Europa League clash against Astana back in 2019.
Mason’s Future Still Uncertain Amid Transfer Talk
Greenwood’s return to Manchester has also stirred fresh rumours about his future. Although, he’s under contract with Marseille. But, reports say he’s keen on returning to the UK with his partner Harriet Robson and their two daughters.
Despite past legal troubles. the charges were dropped in early 2023. Now, his on-field form has made him an attractive option again. At least two unnamed Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in him. If a move back to England doesn’t pan out, options in Serie A, LaLiga, or even the Saudi Pro League could be on the table.
Greenwood had already spent a solid loan spell at Getafe in the 2023–24 season. He has netted ten goals in 36 matches in La Liga at the time. For now, he’s fully focused on keeping fit and possibly figuring out where his next goal will come from.
