The 2025-26 season is closing in rapidly, and now Manchester United have found out the fixture list for the entire campaign.
Little less than two months from the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season, and Manchester United’s entire 38-game fixture list has been revealed.
Ruben Amorim will welcome Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to Old Trafford on match day one, which is an immediate test for the Red Devils, ahead of a season in which they must give a better account of themselves.
Things will then get a little easier for United, with two back-to-back winnable games over Fulham and newly promoted Burnley at the end of August.
In September, however, things get tricky with a trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad and then welcoming Chelsea to Old Trafford.
The good thing about a tough start is that if United come out unscathed, it will show us that we’re in store for a good season.
So with that in mind, here is how we predict the opening five games will go…

Predicting Manchester United’s first five fixtures
Here are Manchester United’s opening five games of the season and how many points we think Amorim will get from each.
Manchester United vs Arsenal (H) – 17th August
Kicking off the season with an absolutely mammoth fixture on Sunday, United will have the chance to prove that this season is a fresh start. With both teams as they are, we struggle to see Arsenal winning at Old Trafford, especially when considering the previous fixture between the two teams. So we would say draw at minimum for Amorim.
Prediction – Draw (+1)
Fulham vs Manchester United (A) – 24th August
United did the double over Fulham last season, one of the only clubs to suffer that fate, and so an improved Amorim team should find the same result to continue a winning streak against the Cottagers.
Prediction – Win (+3)
Manchester United vs Burnley (H) – 30th August
Back at Old Trafford for game week three, and we see another three points for United against newly promoted Burnley, who we expect to really struggle in the upcoming season.
Prediction – Win (+3)
Manchester City vs Manchester United (A) – 13th September
Things will get more difficult for United in game week four with a trip across Manchester to the Etihad, and after being unbeaten last season against Pep Guardiola, Amorim will be confident of avoiding defeat and silencing Rayan Cherki, who has talked a big game since joining City.
Prediction – Draw (+1)
Manchester United vs Chelsea (H) – 27th September
Another ‘big six’ fixture awaits United at the end of September when Chelsea come to Old Trafford, and if Amorim is to be pushing for the top six this season, he will need to be winning games like this.
Prediction – Win (+3)
This may be a bold prediction to say United get 11 points from 15 to start the season, but this is the kind of start Amorim needs, and we back him right now to do so.
