The Premier League fixture Chelsea fans managed to get rid of, it will not be played in the 2025/26 season

Chelsea have now discovered what the 2025/26 campaign has in store after the Premier League fixture list was revealed.

The Blues will be taking on Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in matchweek one, with the clash set to commence on Sunday 17th August at 14:00 on Sky Sports.

However, one fixture that will not be taking place for the second consecutive Premier League season is the Christmas Eve game, following backlash from Chelsea fans.

How the #GetStuffed campaign had the desired impact for Chelsea fans

Back in 2023, Chelsea were scheduled to play against Wolves at Molineux on Christmas Eve, a game very few fans were happy about, even before it ended in a 2-1 defeat.

It was the first Christmas Eve game to be held in the Premier League in the 21st century, and the first in 28 years since Leeds United beat Manchester United in December 1995.

The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust promptly launched a protest named the #GetStuffed campaign, as fans faced a 260-mile round trip to Molineux, on a day where public transport was affected due to strikes and regular disruptions which often occur throughout the festive period.

Fans wanting to attend the game would also have to forgo any Christmas Eve family traditions.

A spokesperson for the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust said at the time: “We have held this demonstration to remind the Premier League and its broadcasters that without match-going supporters, football is nothing. Christmas Eve Football Can Get Stuffed!”

The Premier League listened, removing the Christmas Eve fixture from the calendar last season, and have decided to maintain that approach for the upcoming campaign, with no game scheduled for 24th December.

Evidently, Chelsea fans have defeated the Premier League on this occasion.

Liam Delap has a chance to shine from Sunday 21st December 2025 to Sunday 18th January 2026

If Liam Delap – who impressed on his Chelsea debut – has not already dislodged Nicolas Jackson in the starting XI by December, the England U21 international will have a fantastic opportunity to do so thanks to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament begins on Sunday 21st December 2025 and ends on Sunday 18th January 2026, meaning the Chelsea No.15 is likely to miss the following fixtures if he goes away with Senegal as expected.
