Leeds United are now accelerating their transfer business after a slow start to the summer window. The first week saw multiple reports indicating the club were keen on moving some players.

Illan Meslier was one of the first names listed; the goalkeeper is currently available and has been offered to clubs. Max Wober also revealed that Leeds have told him to find a new club. The trio of Darko Gyabi, Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood will be made available for sale this summer.

Lukas Nmecha’s announcement on Sunday seems to have kicked off the serious transfer business. The German forward will join on a free transfer, and add some quality to the attack. The deal was sealed within hours of the headlines dropping.

Now, it looks like talks for two of the club’s major targets are advancing at a fast rate. Sky Sports have reported that the Whites are engaged in talks with Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra, after reports of a bid being made last week. The French club’s President already revealed this week that the 21-year old will leave the team this summer if a good offer is made.

Jaka Bijol is also closing in on completing his deal. Leeds have been locked in talks with Udinese over the defender for the past few weeks. A bid was rejected, but now, the deal is set to reach its conclusion. According to Breren Cross, Bijol will arrive in West Yorkshire to complete his medical.

The deal is being finalized between Udinese and Leeds, with the transfer to be completed in the coming hours.

Huge signing for the club

Jaka Bijol can be considered a statement signing; a player who made his ambition to play in the Premier League and Champions League joining Leeds is a big deal. The club also get an experienced international, who has been one of the best defenders in Italy. Bijol’s fee is reportedly of good value, so the signing will be a good one overall.
