Arsenal are about to lose a key member of their coaching staff as Carlos Cuesta is set to leave the Emirates.
Cuesta is set to take on a senior managerial role at Parma over in Italy, and Mikel Arteta will need to find a new right-hand man to take over.
Arsenal fans want Santi Cazorla to come in to replace Cuesta, but there may be a better option out there.
Luckily for Arteta, there are likely to be no shortage of top-class coaches who want to take on this job.
Interestingly, there’s one great option out there that Mikel Arteta may want to consider.
Indeed, bringing back a former Arsenal legend in a coaching role is almost always a wise move, and perhaps a good option for Arsenal at this point in time would be Dennis Bergkamp.

Arsenal should go for Dennis Bergkamp
With Carlos Cuesta on his way out of Arsenal, perhaps now is the time for Mikel Arteta to look at bringing Dennis Bergkamp back to north London.
Arteta wanted Bergkamp as a part of his academy staff at one point, and now, there’s a senior coaching role available for Bergkamp.
Speaking to The Guardian a few years ago, Bergkamp made it clear that he’d be open to coming back to Arsenal as a member of the coaching staff.
“The feeling Johan Cruyff has had for Barcelona, I have the same with Arsenal,” said Bergkamp. “At Arsenal it was a good click. I always enjoyed it. I never had a bad day there. It is always on my mind. It is part of my ambition to come back at some stage.”
“I can’t really plan ahead. I know I will be here for at least another three or five years and then I don’t know. I don’t see myself being at Ajax for the rest of my coaching career. I don’t see myself as a manager.”
On top of that, Bergkamp also noted that Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira would love to come back to Arsenal at some point.
“Steve Bould is there now which is excellent. I’ve spoken to Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry would love to come back to Arsenal one day. Tony [Adams] is a big option as well.”
Bergkamp could be perfect for this role too. As Trent Alexander-Arnold said, Bergkamp has one of the greatest football brains of all-time, while Arne Slot was a big fan of Bergkamp as well
Arsenal legends who returned as coaches
Arsenal have a rich history of bringing back former players as coaches, and that’s something Mikel Arteta has also embraced.
Indeed, Jack Wilshere was a coach at Arsenal recently before heading off to Norwich City, while Cesc Fabregas was doing a bit of coaching at Arsenal at one point.
Meanwhile, Per Mertesacker is heavily involved in the academy albeit not in a coaching capacity.
Tons of former Arsenal players have returned in more senior roles over the years.
