The 2025-26 Premier League fixture list has been officially set and with it Liverpool now know that they will begin their title defence and search for a record 21st domestic league title on Friday, August 15th against Bournemouth at Anfield.
Two more August matches follow, and they won’t get any easier with an away date at Newcastle United on Saturday the 23rd and a home date against Arsenal on the 30th before club football breaks and players head off for September internationals.
The season for the Reds will wrap nine months later at home against Brentford on Sunday, May 24th. In between, well, they’ll face everyone else home and away. And Brentford away. Oh and also Arsenal and Bournemouth. And Newcastle at home.
But you probably already guessed as much even if this is your first rodeo as that’s kinda how league seasons tend to work in football generally and also every other sport. Excepting ones that do weird phased seasons or something. But I digress.
In an increasingly difficult Premier League from top to bottom there are no especially easy stretches, but arguably the Reds face a more difficult start and finish to their campaign and a slightly softer run of games during the holiday fixture crunch.
During December and January, Liverpool play four of their six matches against promoted sides Sunderland, Leeds, and Burnley. The full fixture list can be found here.
